Job Description:
· Non-functional requirements assessment and developing high level design using a variety of mediums (i.e. interviewing stakeholders, prototyping, POCs, etc)
· Evaluate and recommend products for specific business requirements (Build-versus-buy decisions at different levels)
 

Desired Candidate Profile
· Architecture and design of distributed, multi-tier applications using Java platform tools and technologies
· Proficiency in adoption of architecture paradigms such as SOA, Web-Services, Middleware technologies, Web 2.0 related technologies and portals
· Prior experience in role of an architect needs to be highlighted. Industry experience must be no lesser than 8 years
· Experience in architecture consulting assignments is a plus. Knowledge on standard or mature architecture frameworks or methodologies is preferred. Certifications, if any, may be highlighted
· Experience in designing high availability environments with clustering, failover/recovery and load balancing strategies for multi-site implementations
· Extensive knowledge with open industry standards such as SOAP, XML, HTTP, etc.
· Proficiency with modeling, UML/OOP concepts, GoF and JEE design patterns, JEE frameworks
· Promotion of reuse of code/modules/components etc.
· Experience with a variety of database vendors (including at least one of: Oracle, DB2, MS SQL)
· Experience with application servers (WebSphere, Weblogic, and JBoss)
· Experience with different development methodologies/processes (including at least one of: RUP, Scrum, XP) and ability to identify appropriate development methodology/process on a per-project basis (both agile and traditional methodologies)
· Proficient in Windows and UNIX/Linux environments
· Ability to be on top of technology changes in the industry
